My name is Debra Colkett.
I am an art's psychotherapist/counsellor with 25 years experience in all areas of mental health including the NHS, Forensic Psychiatry, local schools and therapeutic organisations; working with adults, young people and children. I also offer family support where communication has broken down, especially with children and young people. I am passionate about "people making".
I have also guest lectured at Cambridge University and Anglia Ruskin University on their MA Psychology/Therapy Courses.
I provide a safe, confidential space for you to be able to express your current emotional life challenges. I tailor the therapy to your individual needs, and we work together to achieve your goals. As well as talking, I offer creative techniques to help you express your difficulties and bring about new ways of healing. In this space clients can express themselves, build resilience and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I find that focusing on your healing goals and approaching them creatively, means that years of therapy are not necessary.
Life can be overwhelming at times and finding the right support can make all the difference. I specialise in working with depression and low mood, anxiety and stress relationship difficulties, self-esteem and confidence issues, suicidal ideation, complex-PTSD, emotional and behavioural challenges in children and young people and family dynamics. I work with children, young people and adults.
I offer Therapy face-to-face, telephone and zoom calls to suit your lifestyle.
I am a full member of BADth (British Association of Dramatherapists) and HCPC (Health Care Professional Council)
I am a fully qualified Clinical Supervisor
